What is the Wrentham Elementary Schools Trust (WEST)?
WEST is an independent, non-profit organization founded to maintain educational excellence in Wrentham Elementary Schools. WEST provides Wrentham educators with an additional source of monetary support for innovative curriculum enrichment programs that currently fall outside the ability of the schools' operating budget.
Who manages WEST?
A voluntary Board of Directors that represents parents, community members, school committee members and staff of the Wrentham Elementary Schools manages WEST. The board is made up of a diverse group of individuals who bring a wide variety of skills and professional expertise to the WEST board.
How is WEST funded?
WEST is funded primarily by donations from businesses and individuals interested in supporting Wrentham Elementary Schools. This funding does not take the place of local and state responsibility for funding education in Wrentham.
What is the relationship between WEST and Wrentham Elementary Schools?
WEST is not a part of the Wrentham Public Schools system, the Wrentham School Committee, or the Wrentham PTO. Although, the Superintendent of Schools and two School Committee members serve the WEST board.
What is the relationship between WEST and The Stable of Artists?
WEST is quite fortunate that The Stable of Artists has partnered with us in our fundraising efforts. The Stable of Artists has pledged 30% of all sales to WEST. Both organizations share a mutual goal of enriching the students of Wrentham, whether through exposure to the arts (The Stable of Artists) or enhancing educational excellence at the schools (W.E.S.T.)... the students win!
How can I support WEST?
Show support for WEST - by making a donation; by purchasing artwork through The Stable of Artists website; and/or by supporting our fundraising events. Businesses are also invited to inquire about corporate sponsorship opportunities.
How can I be part of WEST?
WEST depends on volunteers! Volunteer opportunities are available in fundraising, events planning, publications, publicity, and much more. Contact board members to find out how you can get involved.
